To use General Delivery
1) Go to this website: https://tools.usps.com/go/POLocatorAction.action and find a post office near you that has “General Delivery” listed under it’s services2) Request your gift exchange buddy address your package as follows. Note- your name must match what is on your government issued photo ID

(use the city, state and 5 digit zip code for the post office that you want your general delivery to go to)The package will be held for up to 30 days. When you want to pick it up, just go to the post office, walk up to the counter and tell them you’re expecting General Delivery mail and give them your ID.
The beauty of General Delivery is that you can use a post office further away from your home that you know you’ll go to at least once within the next 30 days. This can help protect your identity even further if you’re willing to make a bit of a drive to pick up your gift.
